Find an alternative to sending out email invitations and recording RSVP’s for our department’s Green Dot Staff Training. A good solution would increase staff engagement and attendance, streamline organization and reduce response time. The training, led by Melissa McConaha, called We.auburn is a program promoted by Auburn University’s Division of Student Affairs. We.auburn is a local outreach for the Green Dot awareness program.
I chose to use our online survey software, Qualtrics, to send invitations and request RSVP’s. I knew Qualtrics had a mobile solution available and we could use the staff database already uploaded into our enterprise edition of Qualtrics. Since I avoided the process of sending emails back and forth to invite staff members and the need to find a way to record and share their responses with the organizers of the training, our response time was cut in half.

Imagine for a moment a map of your town, campus, military base, community, state or neighborhood. Each act of power-based personal violence is a red dot on this map — a moment where someone uses their words or actions to harm someone.
Imagine adding a green dot in the middle of all those red dots on your map. A green dot is any behavior‚ choice‚ word‚ or attitude that promotes safety for all our citizens and communicates utter intolerance for violence. A green dot is pulling a friend out of a high risk situation. A green dot is simply your individual choice at any given moment to make our world safer.
